Chow Time!

I am so excited that college football is back!  I am also thrilled with the hire of Norm Chow as head coach at the University of Hawaii!  I was lukewarm on the hire at first, but have come to love what this guy is doing in Manoa!  Cleaning up the locker room, the practice at the military base, the visit to Pearl Harbor, the stripping down of the players, uni's and program.  All to build it back up the right way.  We can already see a bump in talent in the sort of players that Chow is recruiting and bringing into the program.  This season might be a struggle.  New system, new coaches, new attitude, new era.  With that being said, here is my game by game predictions for the upcoming season for the University of Hawaii football team.

Hawaii @ USC = 17 - 56 loss  (0-1)
Lamar vs. Hawaii = 13 - 31 win  (1-1)
Nevada vs. Hawaii = 31 - 20 loss (1-2)
Hawaii @ BYU = 16 - 42 loss (1-3)
Hawaii @ San Diego State  = 20 - 31 loss (1-4)
New Mexico vs. Hawaii = 16 - 30 win (2-4)
Hawaii @ Colorado State = 17 - 24 loss (2-5)
Hawaii @ Fresno State = 20 - 33 loss (2-6)
Boise State vs. Hawaii = 39 - 23 loss (2-7)
Hawaii @ Air Force = 16 - 27 loss (2-8)
UNLV vs. Hawaii = 13 - 30 win (3-8)
South Alabama vs. Hawaii = 10 - 36 win (4-8)

4-8 season record
1-7 in the MWC

It was a rough summer for University of Hawaii with the fake Stevie Wonder concert debacle, and all the DUI's (3) by players on the football team.  Those struggles might continue on the football field this fall.  But the future looks bright.  The foundation is being built and set.  One block at a time.  I would be stoked if this team could make it to 6-6 and crash the Hawaii Bowl on Christmas Eve.  But I just don't see it happening.  I think Hawaii will compete for a bowl birth next season.  Aloha!  And Go Warriors!
